Tanith Belbin
Ice dancer Tanith Belbin and her partner Ben Agosto won silver in the Torino Olympics. They fell just short of the podium in Vancouver, coming in 4th. Off the ice, Belbin's has been romantically linked to men's figure skater, Evan Lysacek.
Torah Bright
Aussie snowboarder Torah Bright came in 5th in the Torino Olympics, but claimed gold this year in the women's half-pipe. "Described as "one of the most photographed female snowboarders in the world," the photogenic Salt Lake City resident has her own signature clothing line and character in a video game." - NBC Olympics.com
Sidney Crosby
Crosby is the youngest captain in NHL history, leader of the Pittsburgh Penguins. He is only 22 years old, but he has already won the Stanley Cup. Now his priority is leading Team Canada to gold in men's hockey. "The Canadian men's team last won gold in Salt Lake City, defeating the U.S. in the final. After a disappointing seventh-place finish in Torino, all of Canada is expecting better, and won't settle for anything but gold on home ice." - NBC Olympics.com
Lindsay Vonn
A gold and bronze medal winner in Vancouver, Vonn says that her husband teases her for being a bit of a klutz. "Mostly, embarrassing things happen to me off the hill. My husband says that I’m more coordinated on skis than off. I’m a klutz." - NBC Olympics.com
Sven Kramer
Sven Kramer won gold in the men's speed skating 5000 meter event. He's drawing a lot of attention to himself in Vancouver because of his resemblance to Canada's Sidney Crosby.
Maria Riesch
The two-time gold medal winner is actually very good friends with fellow skier Lindsay Vonn. Riesch won gold in the women's slalom and super-combined slalom.
Apolo Ohno
Apolo Ohno is now an eight-time Olympic medalist, surpassing Bonnie Blair as the most decorated American Winter Olympian. During a break from skating after Torino, he also won Dancing with the Stars! Frequently seen during warmups listening to music on his iPod, Ohno says "It's different every time. Sometimes hip hop, rap, rock, house, techno, reggae, R&B. I like all types of music." - NBC Olympics.com
Joannie Rochette
Canada's Olympic hopeful in ladies figure skating was hit with devastating news two days before the ladies' event started. Her mother died of a heart attack shortly after arriving in Vancouver to watch her daughter skate. "Rochette delivered two programs under emotional strain few in the world can understand. She finished with a kiss to the sky and Olympic bronze." - NBC Olympics.com
